It’s been ages….

Yes, I know it’s been ages, but I haven’t really been feeling the Barbie bug till recently when I started making a few purchases of dolls that I missed out on when I stopped collecting in 2001. The first were the reproduction TNT Barbies. I have a few of these vintage dolls, but the Singapore weather just isn’t kind to them, so I’ve decided to get the reproductions instead.

These dolls are gorgeous and are now part of my collection, and I am over the moon. I think I’ve got all the TNT Barbie Repros so far (at least, I hope I have), and I couldn’t be happier.

Barbie’s Puma Outfits & Summer Olympic dolls

All of the outfits pictured in the photo below arrived today and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait to dress my dolls in them! I bought all of them online from Amazon and they were priced from $4.99 to $9.99. There were one or two other designs but I only got the ones I really wanted. Looking forward to taking some photos of my dolls in them.

I’ve also just seen the following photo online and love the dolls and their outfits. I’ve heard that these are supposed to be the dolls released for the Summer Olympics but I’ve also heard that some of them might be OOAK (one of a kind). I hope the first statement is the truth because I’d love to get my hands on some of them. 🙂

PS. I’ve just realized that there is a Toy Story T-shirt in Photo #1. I think that was on sale for $2.99.

Recent Purchases

I realize that it’s been some time since I’ve posted. There are 2 reasons for this. For one, RL has been pretty hectic and secondly, I don’t think there’s been anything exciting in the dolly world to talk about.

I haven’t received or purchased anything new since Christmas but that changed yesterday when I managed to get my hands on come Barbie Puma outfits that I have been eyeing for a while. There was a first wave of these with some really cute accessories etc but these are currently only available on the secondary market.  However, the following have been in stock on Amazon on and off over the last week and I finally managed to get my hands on the 2 designs that I wanted which are outfits 3 & 4. I love the black shorts and the fact that the Puma brand name is on its waistband. I purchased them on Amazon for $4.99 each.

Happy Holidays and a fantastic 2020!

I hope all of you have had a happy Christmas and found some wonderful dolly presents under the tree! I got the doll I wanted which was the ponytail BMR1959 Ken doll and also the original outfit (with the cool umbrella) that came with Sunny Slickers Poppy Parker so I am a very happy camper 🙂

 

2020 is just a few days away and I hope that it will be a good one for all of us. There are some clouds on the horizon (figuratively speaking) but my hope that all of us are blessed with good health and be able to enjoy our hobby of doll collecting!

 

Sign of the Times Brunette Poppy Redressed

This doll is a beauty and this is my first attempts at redressing her. I know I have not done her justice.

I redressed her in the outfit from Winter Evening Barbie and although it looks okay, I am not too fond of the shiny button in the middle of her waist.

 

The second outfit I put her in was a Barbie Loony Toons outfit. What do you guys think of the outfits. Let me know if you can and stay tuned for more outfit changes 🙂

 

 

Sign of the Times Brunette Poppy Parker

After I took out the photo with my 9 Poppy Parker dolls, I had intended to limit my Poppy Parker collection to just 10 dolls. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I saw an ad for the Brunette Sign of the Times Poppy Parker doll and just had to have her. The collector I bought her from had really taken very good care of her and had combed out her hair so that she looked really beautiful. I just couldn’t resist her. I managed to meet up with this really nice collector that was selling her at lunch today and she is now in my hot little hands 🙂 I now have to figure out what outfit she should wear. Need to comb through my dolly wardrobe to see what’s available. Isn’t she a beauty?

MTM Basketball Barbie

I have been looking for this Barbie for ages but haven’t been able to find it till today. I found her at the toy department at Takashimaya. There were quite a few there so I hope you will be able to get her if you want to. I also saw some other new dolls.

These include Proudly Pink Barbie and the Daisy Travel doll. Other dolls that were available include a few new Fashionistas and the curvy MTM dancer Barbie. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the one Fashionista Barbie that I was looking for and that is Barbie Fashionista Doll #124.  I think she looks really cute with her green hair and I can’t wait to get her.

 

Barbie Career Places

Was finally able to get this set when a friend of mine bought it for me. I had been looking for this set for ages before this without any success until now. Very cute and definitely a keeper.

 

Sunny Slickers Poppy Parker

I finally have this beauty in my collection and love her. I bought her nude from a collector in the States and couldn’t wait to get her in my hands. Well, she’s finally arrived.

This doll was introduced in 2017 as part of the Swinging London Collection. She has an edition size of 725 dolls and has been in demand by a number of collectors since her debut. Below is a photo of her in her original outfit.

 

I dressed her in some new Barbie fashion packs I had purchased and she looks great! See for yourself.

Keith Haring x Barbie Update

I ordered her directly after posting about her in my previous post and got her today. Below are the actual pictures of her. I am very happy with her but have decided not to debox her just yet.

Check out her black painted nails and the bangles on both her wrists.

Also, check out her cute tote and the fact that the background is embossed. I think that this is a pretty cool doll at a great price point. Thank you, Mattel!
