I used to feel quite alone whenever I thought about my Barbie / Doll collection because most of my family thought I was weird for having such a hobby and I’ve lost touch with a lot of friends who used to collect but don’t anymore. So it was great when I starting connecting with other collectors through Carousell.
As some of you may know I’ve been thinning my collection to make more room (for more dolls of course) and have met some pretty great collectors in the course of meeting them to trade). Some have become firm friends and we’ve spent literally hours just talking about Barbie. However, I’ve found another source of inspiration and that is Instagram. I must admit that I don’t post a great deal and only signed up because I wanted to follow one of the collectors I met from Carousell but it is definitely recommended.
The collectors on Instagram are phenomenal! They post beautiful pics of their collection in so many imaginative ways that it gets me to be inspired about doing the same. I’ve also seen some fantastic collections. Some collectors focus on the older dolls from the 1980s and 1990s but there are others who are into the newer dolls.
It doesn’t matter which dolls you collect, I am sure you will find a like-minded collector on Instagram and even if you don’t, you will still benefit from the inspiration you will get from other collectors on the platform so sign up for Instagram today!
