My collection of Dynamite Girls
For a person who is supposed to be thinning down her collection, I am doing a horrible job 🙂 This is what my shelf of Dynamite Girls looks like now and as you can see it’s getting pretty crowded. I need arrange them a little better but space is definitely an issue.
I haven’t even displayed a couple of dolls like the one below because their boxes are taller than the height of my current shelf. Unfortunately, the shelves can’t be adjusted so Tooka will just have to be patient till I get new shelves.
Fashionista Barbies
I’ve grown to love the Fashionista Barbies and some of the new Kens. Each has a different look, and even if I am not crazy about the doll, I usually like either the outfit or accessories she has. And I think that this little titbit is going to be my downfall budget wise 🙂
For instance, I just came across the Barbie Fashionista XOXO doll (on the left), and I think she is a beauty, but to me, her outfit looks cheap with its printed ties.
Two other dolls that I like and am thinking of getting are the Brunette Fashionista Barbie in the polka dot dress and Barbie in the floral print dress. Both look great and come with really cute outfits that will make it really easy to mix and match.
My only complaint about all the Fashionista dolls is one that I think most of you will share and that is their lack of flexibility. I know that I can always switch bodies with an MTM doll but there are 2 problems with this idea. For one, MTM dolls are hard to come by here and not cheap so switching bodies is not an ideal solution. Secondly, Fashionista dolls come in a variety of skin tones so finding the right body can also be a problem. This is a real pity because there are so many beautiful dolls in the Fashionista line that are just asking for new bodies.
Dolls I’m lusting after aka My Wishlist
Jonathan Adler 50th Anniversary Barbie. This doll didn’t appeal to me at first but she is slowly growing on me or at least her accessories are. She is currently going at more than US$100. Way above my budget at the moment but am keeping my fingers crossed.
Cherry Pie Picnic Barbie if only for her outfit and accessories i.e. outfit and picnic basket.
Positively Plaid Poppy Parker. I love everything about this doll. From her facial expression to her accessories; I haven’t come across one single thing that I don’t like about her except her price 🙂
These are the 3 dolls on my wish list so far. Will provide further updates for other dolls on my list in due course.
