Keith Haring x Barbie

Does anyone have this doll yet? I think she looks a lot like the caucasian Puma Barbie doll which I am fine with but what I love are her outfit and accessories.  Designed by Bill Greening, Barbie is dressed in “an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt featuring Haring’s famed ‘Radiant Baby’. Haring’s dancing figures are featured on Barbie® doll’s white stiletto boots with black soles, and in an all-over print on her electric-pink pants. To finish this bold look, Keith Haring X Barbie® doll wears colorful bangles and carries a metallic “boom box” purse. Additional details include hoop earrings with ‘Radiant Baby’ details and trendy red sunglasses.”

I would love to get my hands on her because I love her vibrant coloring and her outfit. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for her 🙂

60th Anniversary Doll Black & White Dress

I first saw this doll on Amazon and wanted to get her because I loved the premise i.e. her black and white dress reflecting the very first 1959 Barbie. However, I changed my mind after I saw her in person. She is okay but not as pretty as pictured (imho).

I was fortunate to be able to see 3 out of the 4 versions the Caucasian doll, the Asian doll, and the brunette doll. I love their outfits but did not like any of their faces. I guess I should feel lucky because that means I won’t be buying any of them.

Just went nuts Barbie shopping

I’ve just bought 3 dolls and 3 fashion packs. This the most I’ve bought in a long time which is understandable since I am supposed to be thinning my collection. The first 2 dolls which I bought were from Amazon. The first was the Daisy Travel doll. I think she is really pretty (I love her face and the color of her hair) and of course, she comes with some pretty interesting accessories.

The second doll was the MTM Soccer Player. I bought her because I didn’t have her yet and you can never have too many MTM dolls to do body swaps with. The last doll I bought was the blue-haired mermaid doll. I am hoping to customize her because I love her face and blue hair but am not too crazy about her body. One of the main challenges with this project will be to find an MTM doll with the right skin tone to work with.

Now the fashion packs. I have been telling myself over and over again not to buy so many fashions but in my defense….they are just so cute that I couldn’t resist. Luckily the store I visited didn’t have a larger range because I definitely might have bought more 🙂

I bought the Daffy Duck outfit because I love the whole set but bought the one in the middle mainly for the black and white striped skirt. I almost didn’t buy the last outfit but didn’t resist it in the end because I wanted to try it on different dolls to see which ones would look the best in it. It’s definitely not an outfit I’d normally buy but then I figured why not. Will update the site with photos once I’ve redressed my dolls.
