Project #10

I was inspired to make this when I say the video created by MyFroggyStuff where they made created a beautiful dollhouse bay window.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of space so I decided to make a backdrop and incorporate a window seat into it. That way it can be folded and put away.

I cut 2 squares of cardboard, each with a side measuring 37.5 cm (15 inches). I then used the plastic from doll packaging for the window portion of the backdrop. In my case, I used the plastic from the Barbie Daisy Travel doll pictured below.

I cut a rectangle out from one of the square pieces of cardboard. The rectangle must be large enough so that the plastic from the packaging can fit. Tape the plastic to the cardboard so that it is attached securely and decorate according to your preference and the materials you have on hand.

I made the curtains by using paper and covered the walls sticky paper I bought from a discount store. I covered the base of the seat with a long cushion and made smaller cushions by simply sewing some smaller scraps of cloth I had around the house.

I glued a photo of a garden scene I downloaded from the net on the outside of the plastic packaging so that my dolls would have some greenery to look out at.

The book was created using the printables provided by MyFroggyStuff on their blog.

This window seat is not as large as the bay window created by MyFroggyStuff but it is part of a bigger backdrop that I can use as a background when I want to photograph my dolls.
